Applesauce Cake

1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2-1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1-1/2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1-1/2 cups applesauce
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped pecans
 
Cream butter; gradually add sugar, creaming till light.  Add eggs, beating well after each.  Sift together dry ingredients.  Add alternately to creamed mixture with applesauce.  Stir in raisins and nuts.  Turn batter into greased and lightly floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.  Bake at 350 deg. about 45 minutes or till done.  Cool in pan.
