1/2 cup butter
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted (approximate)
Melt butter in pan. Add brown sugar and salt. Mix well, and let cook about 1 minute. Add milk and bring
to boil; boil about 1/2 minute. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Mix in sifted powdered sugar to desired thickness.
Add small amount of cream or milk if icing gets too hard.
*Note: This icing should not be beaten because it will harden too fast. If it seems too thin, you may add
an additional amount of powdered sugar. Stir in gently with a wisk. It can be poured onto a hot cake. Spread
it on the sides with a knife as you pour. Believe me, it will set up very well.
