Hamburger Pie

1 lb. hamburger
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste
2 cups (1 1 lb. can) cut green beans, drained
1 10-3/4 oz. can tomato soup
2-1/2 to 3 cups mashed potatoes (leftovers work fine here)
1 egg
1/2 cup shredded American cheese

Brown hamburger and onion in skillet with salt and pepper. Drain off excess fat. Add cooked green beans and soup. Pour into greased 1-1/2 quart casserole.

Mix beaten egg into mashed potatoes. Heap in mounds on top of meat mixture. Sprinkle potatoes with the shredded cheese. Bake in moderate oven (350 deg F.) for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Serve with salad and dessert.
