One Dish Meals
Chili Con Carne

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 medium chopped onion (adjust this if you like more)
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 1 lb. can tomatoes, broken up
1 1 lb. can chili beans
1 lg. can tomato sauce
2 cups tomato juice
1 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon onion salt
1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder (how hot do you like it?)
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce

Use large pan like a dutch oven. Brown hamburger with onions and green pepper, salt, garlic salt, onion salt, and pepper. Put into colander to drain off grease. While it's draining, put rest of ingredients in pan, add 1 cup water. Mix well, then add hamburger mixture to pan. Simmer for at least 1 hour for best flavor.

*Note: You can adjust any of these seasonings, but this is what I use for a flavorful, mildly warm chili.
*Note: For a thicker chili, simmer without a lid on it.
