3/4 lb. (3 sticks) butter
1 lb. sugar
1 lb. flour
1 heaping teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 eggs, slightly beaten
2 teaspoons nutmeg
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. pecans, chopped
1 cup whiskey
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Mix baking powder with flour, then add to creamed mixture, small amounts at a time. Add salt, nutmeg, whiskey, pecans, and raisins. Bake in tube pan for 2 to 3 hours in 300 to 325 deg. oven. Let cool thoroughly before removing from pan. Keep cake in covered cake pan.
