2 tablespoons butter 2 tablespoons flour 2 cups milk 4 ounces Cheddar cheese, grated Salt & pepper 1 7-oz. pkg. fine egg noodles, cooked 1/2 pound cooked ham, ground Make white sauce of butter, flour, and milk; add cheese and stir until melted. Season with salt and pepper. Put a layer of noodles in bottom of greased baking dish, sprinkle with ham and cover with sauce. Repeat layers and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake in moderate over (350 deg F.) 25-30 minutes. Chipped dried beef or chicken may be used instead of ham. Serves 8. |
