Apple Crisp


When I made this recipe, I did not sweeten the apples, but I did use orange juice. There is enough sugar in the topping that it was plenty sweet without additional sugar.

5 to 6 cups peeled apples
3/4 cup oats
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter

Sweeten apples to taste. Place in 9" square pan. Mix remaining ingredients, cutting butter into other dry ingredients. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 350 deg F. for 35 to 40 minutes. Good topped with ice cream.

Note: can also pour 1/2 cup orange juice over apples before sprinkling dry mixture over them.
