1 envelope unflavored gelatin 1 cup milk 2 squares (1-ounce each) unsweetened chocolate 3/4 cup sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 cups heavy cream, softly whipped Unsweetened whipped cream (optional) In heavy medium saucepan, sprinkle gelatin over milk; let stand 5 minutes to soften. Add chocolate and sugar. Stir over moderate heat until chocolate melts and is well blended, using a whisk if necessary. Chill to lukewarm; stir in vanilla; fold in softly whipped cream. Turn into 1-quart mold. Freeze until firm. To serve, unmold; serve with unsweetened whipped cream. Makes 6 generous servings. |
