Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups quick or old-fashioned oats
1 cup raisins

Heat oven to 350 deg. Beat butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt; add to butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats and raisins; mix well.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 deg. for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store in airtight container.

Makes about 4 dozen 2-1/2 inch cookies.
