1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups oats
1 cup flour
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon soda
Chopped nuts (optional)
Chocolate chips (optional)
Preheat oven to 325 deg. Beat together shortening, peanut butter, and sugars. Add egg, vanilla, and water; beat until creamy. Combine remaining ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
