Glazed Fruit Cookies

3 cups Rice Krispies cereal, crushed to 3/4 cup
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg chopped dates (1-1/2 cups)
1 (8 oz.) pkg chopped candied red cherries (1 cup)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped candied green cherries (1 cup)
1-1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 egg
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
Vegetable cooking spray

In medium bowl, combine cereal, flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.  Set aside.

In large mixing bowl, beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.  Add egg; beat well.  Add cereal mixture, mixing until combined.  Stir in fruits and pecans.  Drop by level measuring-tablespoon onto baking sheets coated with cooking spray.  Bake at 350 deg. about 14 minutes or until light golden brown.  Remove immediately from baking sheet to wire racks.  Lightly brush hot cookies with corn syrup.  Cool completely.  Store in airtight container.

Yield:  5-1/2 dozen cookies.
