3 cups sifted flour 4-1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1-1/2 teaspoons salt 1/2 cup Crisco Shortening 1 cup milk In bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in Crisco until mixture resembles coarse corn meal. Add milk; stir until blended. Transfer dough to lightly floured surface. Knead lightly, 8 to 10 times. Roll dough to a 9" square. Place dough to fit into bottom of ungreased 9" square pan. Cut through dough in squares. Bake at 425 deg F. for 15-18 minutes. When baked, biscuits will separate at cut lines. |
