Macaroni and Tomatoes


This is an old, very popular family recipe of my mother's.

8 strips bacon
2 onions, chopped
1 cup macaroni
2 cans (15 oz.) tomatoes
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon sugar

Fry bacon. Reserve 2 slices; crumble 6 slices. Saute onions in bacon grease.

Boil macaroni for 10 minutes. Drain and rinse.

Combine all ingredients, except 2 slices bacon. Put into 2 quart greased baking dish. Place 2 reserved slices bacon on top. Bake at 375 deg. for 20-25 minutes, or until slightly browned on top.
