Honey Walnut Bread

2-1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 level teaspoon soda
1 cup milk
1 cup honey
1/2 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
1 cup chopped English Walnuts

Measure flour and sift with salt and soda. Set aside. Scald milk, but do not boil. Add honey and sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add egg yolks and butter; mix well. Stir flour mixture into batter and blend thoroughly. Fold in chopped nuts. Pour batter into one 13 x 4-1/2 x 2-1/2" greased loaf pan, lined with waxed paper or foil. Bake in preheated oven at 325 deg F. for 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 hours. Let cool and remove from pan. Slice thin and serve with butter or cream cheese.
