Tomato Soup Cake

1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon butter
1 cup tomato soup
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves (optional)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins, plumped (see note below)

Mix sugar, butter and soup together. Sift together flour and spices. Gradually add to soup mixture. Add walnuts and raisins.

Lightly grease and flour small loaf pan and bake 1 hour at 350 deg.
